Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: We spent 5 days at the green papaya resort. The location is great: small isolate beach which is not overcrowed. There are 4 different resort in the beach where it is possible to have great dinner.
The breakfast is georgious at the green papaya. We rent the deluxe cottage, and we found them very nice and confortable. The outside shower was definitively a plus for us.

Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: best place on salad beach to visit with children. Very nice pool and perfect houses next to the pool. Very friendly staff, real family business. Only thing; music plays in the bar allday same songs, breakfast is barely enough for everybody.The extra s like a taxi are a bit overprized, and the rooms are also a bit overprized for 3/4 stars but if you want to have it all you have to pay the prize and that s what they understand...we loved the place. Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: It was very nice to stay at the Green Papaya with its wonderful garden! The staff was very friendly. Breakfast was o.k.! We missed a moskito-net over the bed, because there were a lot of moskitos!

Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: Beautiful, peaceful, exactly what I was looking for. The hotel staff is very friendly and always ready to take care and pamper all their guests. The gardens are spectacular, very well mantained and even more beautiful than the pictures on the web. The beach is very shalow, so if you re looking for waves, swimming and lots to do, this is not the place for you. If you re looking to lounge around doing nothing in paradise, this is it! I can t wait to go back!

Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: A beautiful hotel, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here. The Family Deluxe Room was so spacious and well equipped! The breakfast and all other meals were outstanding. There was a very relaxed atmosphere at the hotel which is exactly what we went there for and the beach in front of the hotel was great. Beautiful well-kept gardens at the hotel! We ll be back!!

Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: PROS: The resort is situated in a nice location only a few steps away from the beach. The breakfast was fairly decent. Beds are clean and the bathroom is superb.
CONS: Way too expensive during the high season (not worth the price!). Doors have a gap at the top. Bathroom door locked on the wrong side! Staff did their job very well but could have been more friendly. Staff do not speak English very well and could not arrange for us to be picked up without there being problems. Since we were looking for a fun place, Haad Salad and Green Papaya were too quiet for us. We had to spend a great deal of money traveling back and forth from Haad Rin. Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: Green Papaya is fantastic, if you are looking for a relaxing week of sitting by the pool and doing some low key snorkeling, this is the place. The service was fantastic, very friendly. I was there over four years ago and the staff remembered me by name, that s pretty impressive. Övriga kommentarer om hotellet: When booking this accommodation we were quite concerned at the variety of reports from very good to very bad. Having stayed in Koh Samui for 7 nights before in a luxury resort,we were quite concerned at the hotel s mention that it too was meant to be luxury although we would rate as only a 3 star. The resort is old and the rooms do need attention. We had one of the most expensive rooms and did not believe it was value for money, eg. the front door had a gap of around 1 inch around the frame which meant that all the mosquitos came in and there was no mosquito coils provided; the bedside lamps were broken and linen on bed ws not changed every day (towels were). The electricity continually malfunctioned & as it was over 34 temp & humidity over 100%, we were ready on the first day to check out and not worry about the lost money. However speaking to a couple of other guests we decided to stay on. The staff, whilst english is limited, are very friendly which is a plus; the pool is lovely and the fact that it was low season was very good for a quite relaxed time which is what we wanted. We had 2 breakfasts there but they certainly do not come up to standard, hence we missed one and as we had an early check out the staff made us a sandwich to take on the run, which was appreciated. We did not eat any meals there in the evening as the selection at the other resorts was much better, and the ambience at other resorts as well was more enticing.
Would we go back? No. However when visiting this island and the resorts, you need to understand and have the expectation that it will never be as up-to-date and modern as the bigger holiday destinations like Pukhet or Samui. If your intention it to get away from the hustle & bustle and just completely chill out, then Koh Phangen and these type of resorts are fine...however I believe they are over priced for what you get elsewhere. The food and service was great our little boy (7mths) was treated like a king which made our time so enjoyable and easy. Highly recommend this resort thanks again guys and girls
